Kırıkkale University meets its water needs independently through two caissons and two boreholes located on the banks of the Kızılırmak River. The extracted water is collected in a raw water tank, treated in a clean water treatment plant, and transferred to two 3,000 m³ water tanks on campus.
The university operates a closed-loop water system, in which river water is treated and recycled for use across the main campus. All domestic wastewater is collected and processed in the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring that only treated water is released or reused. This system not only prevents pollution but also contributes to annual water savings, reflecting the university’s active role in sustainable resource management.
The university employs an automated
water treatment system to monitor water quality and usage in real time. Regular
laboratory analyses are conducted to ensure compliance with safety and quality
standards. Water management processes are coordinated by the Construction
Services Unit, which oversees planning, implementation, monitoring, and
evaluation activities.
